There are 6 feature-length fiction films and 30 fiction shorts among the submissions, as well as 19 films in Best Documentary Feature Film category, 25 – in the category Best Documentary Short Film, and 12 animated films.
Applications for the award were submitted by well-known filmmakers – Mara Tamkovich, Andrey Kutila, Alyaksei Paluyan, Yulia Ruditskaya, Nikita Lavretsky, as well as newcomers. The long list of Red Heather'24 will be published on October 25 – its public version will not include films whose directors and/or film crews wished to remain anonymous.
In its second season, Red Heather Award is going to examine Belarusian films released in 2021 and 2022, regardless of whether they were filmed in the country or abroad.
